Very similar to that movie “Slumdog Millionaire” every event growing up has unknowingly pushed me towards the fitness industry. I played sports my whole life, I have a bachelors in Biology, a masters in Education, a severe case of OCD and an unhealthy obsession with being “the push” that people need to commit to themselves.

My fulfillment occurs when someone does something they know is going to be hard just because it will make them a better, healthier, more durable version of themselves. It get’s the people going.

I grew up in northern New Hampshire, where the mountains taught me two things: the importance of a healthy, balanced lifestyle and that mosquitos really are the state bird. My love for the outdoors inspired me to study Kinesiology in college, setting me on a mission to make helping people my life’s work.

Since then, I’ve dedicated every spare second I have to guiding others on their journey to become the healthiest, strongest versions of themselves. Few things are as rewarding as watching someone transform their life through fitness and nutrition.

For me—and for so many others—exercise is about more than building a stronger, healthier body. It’s therapy for the mind, a boost for the spirit, and, let’s face it, sometimes just a much-needed escape from reality.

I’ve always loved the idea of providing people with the “best hour of their day.” Sixty minutes that are just for them—to work hard, push limits, maybe try something new. Sixty minutes to leave stress at the door, share a laugh, and reconnect with themselves. It’s my privilege to help create those moments and to keep the journey toward active, vibrant living as fun and fulfilling as possible.

    ALEX HUTCHINS

    COACH

I’ve been coaching fitness for over ten years, but my love for exercise has been a lifelong commitment—longer than my love for coffee, which says a lot. My fitness journey started in high school when I hit the gym to improve my lacrosse game. In college, I realized I loved training as much as playing, and I’ve been hooked ever since. From powerlifting to weightlifting to chasing competitive CrossFit dreams, I’ve dabbled in it all.

For me, a good workout isn’t just about building a stronger body—it’s about finding clarity, balance, and sometimes just burning off the stress of the day. Coaching gives me the chance to share that experience with others, and I feel incredibly lucky to help people discover their own love for fitness every day.

I thought I was in good shape when I started going to the gym in my early 20s, but walking into Seacoast Athletics on opening day in 2020 showed me what was possible. Here, I discovered that fitness is a lifestyle and that my potential is limitless.

Coaching has always been a passion of mine, from basketball and golf to now helping members crush goals and master new movements at Seacoast Athletics. This community has helped me grow, and my goal is to return the favor as a coach, athlete, and friend for years to come. Let’s keep pushing limits together!

My fitness journey started to avoid getting injured doing the things I love - surfing, snowboarding, and being active with my kids. I found that I enjoyed reclaiming my mobility, the process of learning to move well, and ultimately getting stronger. That journey led me to Seacoast Athletics, where a whole new world opened up for me. I love to learn, I love to be challenged, and I don't do anything halfway. As a result, my coaching journey was really just a natnsequence of knowing I could always move better.

I think the key to a happy life is to constantly look for, and overcome, things that make you uncomfortable. It feels weird to change how you move, what weights you grab, or how you approach a workout - but the energy that comes from watching someone do something they never thought they could do, however small? That's the real stuff.... No one can give that feeling, it can only be earned. Every time someone shows up for class, they make a deposit in the account of the person they want to become. Watching others make the decision to be challenged, and helping them get there is a gift, and I'm grateful for the opportunity.

Since entering the fitness world many years ago, I have coached Crossfit, Bootcamp-style classes, and a diverse population of personal training clients. As a doctor of physical therapy, strength & conditioning specialist, and pelvic health trained clinician, I feel very fortunate to have a unique opportunity to help individuals become and stay active no matter what they're experiencing.

As an athlete myself I understand the value of community, intentional programming, and being able to move throughout every phase of life, even though that may shift here and there. I truly believe movement is medicine, anyone can do it, and it can change someone's life for the better, in so many more ways than just physical. I run, bike, hike, and dabble in many other active hobbies and consistent weight training allows me to stay healthy and safe while doing these. I am very passionate about helping others do the same and use strength training to benefit their life outside the gym as well.

My love for fitness started when I was just a wee little tyke in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. While other kids were playing with toys, I was hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding.

In high school, I was so good at Phys. Ed. class that I won the "Physical Education award" (which is like winning the Nobel Prize for gym class). I also earned a Bachelor's in Exercise Science from the University of New Hampshire, where I lifted weights with the guys and proved that girls can lift too.

After college, I found CrossFit and jumped right in. Now, I’m a coach with as many certifications as a doctor (CrossFit Level 2 and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach).

I know for myself, and for many others, exercise is a means to more than just a healthier, stronger, body. The mental and emotional benefits of exercise, and the social peace someone can get from the group atmosphere or working one-on-one, can sometimes be a part of someone's week that is just as important. I've always loved the idea of providing people with one of the "best hours of their day." 60 minutes where it's just for them, to work hard, push their limits, and maybe try something new. 60 minutes where all the other worries or stressors from the day can take a back seat. 60 minutes to share something I love, a smile or two, and continue on the journey of maintaining the most active lives we can!

COACH

I have been coaching fitness for 8 years but my love for exercise has lasted my lifetime. I started training in high school to improve my ability on the lacrosse field. After training and playing in college, I shifted my focus to improving my training to become better at training itself. I did some powerlifting, and some weightlifting, and have spent the past few years working towards becoming a competitive CrossFit athlete.

I believe that a good workout is not only valuable for the body but also vital to a healthy and balanced mind. It has always been my favorite way to find peace and overcome stress. I feel incredibly lucky to coach and share that experience with others every day.

I first started going to the gym in my early 20s and thought I was in good shape little did I know I barely scratched the surface. I walked into Seacoast Athletics opening day in November 2020 and never looked back; here is where I found that my potential is limitless and that fitness is a lifestyle. In my short time here I have gained so much appreciation for the importance of good sound movement.

I have always carried a passion for coaching from my early 20s being able to coach basketball and golf to now having the privilege of coaching here at Seacoast Athletics. There is a no bigger reward as a coach and I absolutely love seeing members achieve a goal or new movement. Each and every member has contributed to my progress and growth. My hope as a coach is to be able to return the favor in whatever capacity that means to you. My promise to this great community is to continue to grow as a coach, athlete, and friend for many years!
